Rubs are often used in grilling and smoking because the seasoning penetrates the meat during the cooking process. Rubs also add flavor and texture to all meats. It is recommended that you work a generous amount into the meat up to 24 hours before cooking; cover and refrigerate the meat until ready to use. Apply a second coat just before grilling or smoking.

Outstanding

Had a large Boston butt. Rubbed the Carolina BBQ all over the meat. Slow and low for about six hrs in the slow-cooker. Finished off in the oven for crispy ends. Added a touch of BBQ sauce at the end. Divine! Can't wait to try the other rubs I bought. Will most definitely buy again!

amazing

My husband got a 6-pack of spices as a gift, and it included the pork rub. I simply cannot say enough good things about it. Take a pork shoulder and cover it in this spice rub, then put it in a slow cooker on low for 7ā€“8 hours. You may want to add bbq sauce for the last hour, but it's not even necessary. The result is a moist, tender, flavorful piece of meat that falls apart as you try to fork it. It is so good, it might not make it to a sandwich--you'll be eating it out of the pan. So good. Hmm. Anyway, now I'm buying the bigger size.
